The Unfinished White Oak, Red Oak and Maple Tread Nosed Return is made for interior stair construction from attractive natural hardwood. It is sold unfinished, allowing you to finish it to match other White or Red Oak or Maple stair parts or decor. Attaches to the ends of Plain Treads to create a return tread in open-stringer stair designs. Installs with finishing nails and wood glue, sold separately.

Returns provide a level of safety as well as comfort due to the added dimension to the stepping surface.
Stair tread return, or nosing, is the finished edge attached to the tread that extends beyond the riser and possibly over the side or sides in an open staircase situation. There is a radius profile on one long edge and one short end. The other long edge is square for attachment to your stair tread.
