The Unfinished White Oak and Maple Tread Nosed Return is made for interior stair construction from attractive natural hardwood. It is sold unfinished, allowing you to finish it to match other White or Red Oak or Maple stair parts or decor. Attaches to the ends of Plain Treads to create a return tread in open-stringer stair designs. Installs with finishing nails and wood glue, sold separately.

Returns provide a level of safety as well as comfort due to the added dimension to the stepping surface.
Stair tread return, or nosing, is the finished edge attached to the tread that extends beyond the riser and possibly over the side or sides in an open staircase situation. There is a radius profile on one long edge and one short end. The other long edge and short end are square for attachment to your stair tread. See CAD drawing in pictures for more detail.
I will custom cut to your exact length (+/- 1/16") free of charge. If you don't see the length you want in this ad, just buy the quantity you want in the next length up and place a note on your order specifying the length you want in whole inches and fractions down to 1/8 of an inch. I will contact you to confirm. There is no minimum length; if you have an 8 inch run or a 10" run, I can cut these to your size free of charge. Custom cutting will add 1 day to handling time for large orders. If you are not sure what length you need, 13 inches is the most common.
